2 Year Old Class

Our 2 year olds focus on learning through play, using manipulatives, sensory exploration, creative expression, building imagination, and developing language. Our learning goals are accomplished through centers that include gross and fine motor activities, puzzle and block building, art, imaginative play, and engaging reading lessons that are child-centered.
  • Social/Emotional: Being social with other children, following directions, completing tasks independently, potty training
  • Language/Communication: Talking, naming items
  • Cognitive (Learning, Thinking, Problem-Solving): Sorting, building, learning through play
  • Movement/Physical Development: Kicking, running, throwing
  • Sign Language: Basic vocabulary and commonly used words to assist with communication

3-Year Old Class

Our 3 year olds focus on creative expression, sensory exploration, exploring the world around around them, using manipulatives, building language, developing self-regulation skills, working cooperatively with others, and role playing. Our learning goals are accomplished through centers that include gross and fine motor activities, puzzle and block building, math and science exploration, art, imaginative play, and interactive reading and writing lessons that are child-centered. 
  • Social/Emotional: Building relationships, sharing, taking turns, completing tasks independently
  • Language/Communication: Naming items, saying name, age, and sex, using pronouns, understanding prepositions, communicating using words
  • Cognitive (Learning, Thinking, Problem-Solving): Learning through play, using imagination
  • Movement/Physical Development: Climbing, running, pedaling
  • Spanish: Colors, numbers, and vocabulary

4 and 5-Year Old Class

Our 4 and 5 year olds focus on problem solving, creative and self-expression, using manipulatives, working cooperatively with others, developing self-regulation skills, using language to communicate, uderstanding the importance of words, writing letters and words, foundational math concepts, and exploring the world around them. Our learning goals are accomplished through centers that include gross and fine motor activities, puzzle and block building, math and science exploration, art, imaginative play, emotional expression, and activities that teach foundational reading and writing skills that are child-centered.
  • Social/Emotional: Playing with other children, cooperating, showing independence, developing interests
  • Language/Communication: Using pronouns, communicating clearly using sentences, telling stories, naming colors, shapes, and numbers to 10 or more, saying alphabet
  • Cognitive (Learning, Thinking, Problem-Solving): Exploratory play, using imagination, learning though song, retelling stories, drawing shapes, counting to 10 or more, writing name
  • Movement/Physical Development: Hopping, catching, pouring, cutting, using utensils
  • Spanish: Colors, numbers, vocabulary, greetings, and commonly used phrases
